What we offer

During your internship at Wanhua Chemical you will work in the department that best matches your capabilities, engaging in daily business operations along with a personal mentor who is responsible for bringing you up to speed with the company and background knowledge that your position may require. On top of daily work operations, you will participate in team analysis projects, rotate to different departments on a regular basis to observe company-wide operations, attend intercultural training activities, experience special Chinese cultural classes and even participate in Mandarin Chinese lessons.

Locations

Most of the available intern positions are located near our headquarters in the city of Yantai China, while specially qualified applicants may opt to serve their internship in our Beijing, Shanghai or Ningbo branches.

Travel & Accommodation

During the internship period we will take care of living arrangements and provide a monthly stipend. A period of paid leave for tourism will be encouraged, as we would like you to experience other parts of the country and culture during your internship.

POSITIONS

Requirements:
  • Applicants must have a background in chemistry and/or chemical engineering.
  • A bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed).
  • Masters or PhD is a major plus.
  • Must be willing to adapt to a multi-cultural setting.

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in the research and development of polyurethane and polyacrylate materials.
  2. Analyze the MDI production process.
  3. Contribute to laboratory work.
  4. Assist in the investigation of domestic and international market for aromatic products such as benzene, toluene, etc.
  5. Assist in preparing proposals for international projects.
  6. Complete at least one long-term strategic analysis report.
Requirements:
  • Background in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Graduate experience is a plus.
  • Willing to take initiative and work in a multicultural setting.
Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in work tasks related to the routine analysis using FTIR、ICP-OES、XRF、XRD、DSC、TGA、DMA etc.
  2. Assist in the analysis of related production,raw materials and so on.
  3. Assist in the samples pre-preparation for various complex analysis technology.
Requirements:
  • Background in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Graduate experience is a plus.
  • Willing to take initiative and work in a multicultural setting.
Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in work tasks related to the routine analysis using GC、HPLC、LC/MS、GPC、GCMS、NMR、MALDI-TOF etc.
  2. Assist in the analysis of related production,raw materials and so on.
  3. Assist in the samples pre-preparation for various complex analysis technology.

  2. Assist in the analysis of related production chains.

  5. Complete at least one long-term strategic analysis report.
Requirements:
  • Applicants should have a background in quality management systems and analysis methods.
  • A bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed).

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in quality management analysis and operations related to the manufacture of MDI (and related products), and Petrochemical products.
  2. Assist colleagues in the use of quality management tools.
  3. Provide knowledge of quality management laws and regulations from intern’s home country.
  4. Assist in preparing reports and proposals related to process improvement and quality management systems adjustments
  5. Conduct research and provide suggestions regarding internationally recognized best practices regarding quality management in the chemical manufacturing industry.

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in operation and analysis of automated industrial production chains.
  2. Contribute to the maintenance, analysis and improvement of process control, advanced process control, Safety Instrument systems and optimization used in the integrated production chains of MDI or Petrochemical products.
  3. Contribute to the continuous improvement of plant performance and operational safety.
  4. Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement to Operation Data System.
  5. Assist in preparing reports and proposals related to process improvement and the status of our automated systems.
  6. Conduct research and provide suggestions regarding internationally recognized best practices regarding automated industrial systems.
Requirements:
  • Applicants should have a background in chemical engineering and statistical analysis.
  • A bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed).
  • Masters or PhD is a major plus.
  • Must be willing to adapt to a multi-cultural setting.

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in statistical analysis of production operations related to the manufacture of MDI (and related products), and Petrochemical products.
  2. Contribute to qualitative and quantitative analysis of chemical engineering systems.
  3. Present research regarding successful statistical management case studies.
  4. Assist in preparing reports and proposals related to process improvement
  5. Conduct research and provide suggestions regarding internationally recognized best practices regarding chemical production processes.
Requirements:

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in operations, analysis and testing of various chemical production technologies and equipment involved in the integrated production of MDI (and related products) and Petrochemical products.
  2. Analyze compressor, pump and PRV structures and share knowledge on the subject with colleagues.
  3. Assist in the analysis of equipment failure and write basic reports.
  4. Participate tasks related to corrosion processes.
  5. Make presentations based on internäs area of study to colleagues.
  6. Participate in disassembling and maintenance of equipment at least 3 times.
  7. Assist in preparing reports and proposals related to equipment states, equipment maintenance practices, and technology/equipment integration and utilization.
  8. Conduct research and provide suggestions regarding internationally recognized best practices regarding chemical production.
Requirements:
  • Applicants should have a background in chemical engineering and petrochemicals.

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in the analysis of the MDI production process.
  2. Assist in the analysis of the Petrochemical production process (Especially regarding MTBE production).
  3. Assist in hydraulic analysis (Especially in steam system).
  4. Assist in the investigation of domestic and international market for aromatic products such as benzene, toluene, etc.
  5. Assist in preparing proposals for international projects.
  6. Contribute to the departments understanding of internationally recognized best practices regarding chemical engineering processes.
  7. Complete at least one long-term strategic analysis report.
Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed).

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist the Marketing Department in various tasks related to public relations, brand management and communications.
  2. Analyze and advise the Marketing Department on the content of international communication materials.
  3. Assist in the localization of marketing materials.
  4. Contribute to the departments understanding of internationally recognized best practices regarding public relations, communications and marketing.
  5. Complete at least one long-term strategic analysis report.
Requirements:
  • Applicants should have a background in engineering and/or process analysis.
  • A bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed).

Internship Position Description:
  1. Assist in the auditing and analysis of various work functions related to chemical production.
  2. Assist in preparing proposals for international projects.
  3. Contribute to the departments understanding of internationally recognized best practices regarding auditing methods.

Requirements:
  • Applicants should have a background in commercial law.
  • A bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed).

  1. Join a team in business negotiation and reviewing foreign trade contracts.
  2. Analyze and update regarding new laws and regulations.

  1. Assist the Financial Department in financial analysis, accounting, or business analysis depending on intern’s capabilities and specialization.
  2. Provide knowledge and instruction related to international financial and accounting practices.
